Example Assessments

  • With the introduction of PERA in 2016-17, teachers will be asked to prove student growth within their subject area.Many of these projects can help to prove growth by raising student’s confidence level (and therefore success) in composing. Try keeping a portfolio of student work over the year (many of this can be done digitally) so the student can reflect on their year’s worth of compositions and find areas of strength and areas needing growth. Other ways to easy assess students success is through discussion, debate, critique and simple rubrics.
