Vivaldi: Nature Inspired CompositionsUsing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as a basis for this project, students are tasked with writing and performing a piece of music based on nature. Students are asked to observe the natural sounds around them and then interpret or recreating these sounds using classroom instruments. In this project they are asked to map out their songs any way they would like. Some groups take a very minimalist approach to this and only make marks that are necessary. Other groups get very specific about who plays what for how many number of seconds. Either way the pieces demonstrate collaboration and cooperation among group members.
These pieces are recorded, turned into a QR code, and sent home so parents can enjoy their child’s work. |
